From the mini roundabout top of Union Street in New Mills,go down the B6101 towards Marple, on the left is road with a steep incline leading down to New Mills station.Go down the slope and park on either side of the track. Follow the path passing a small and new housing development on the left and go through the gate marked Goyt Way and Midshires way. Turn immediately left, the path to the river goes along a new stone wall. Follow this path always veering to the left towards the river. The fishing extends all along this right hand bank going downstream. Keeping your eyes open you will see the DNMAC private fishing signs judicially placed. I saw one sign warning anglers to be aware of overhead high tension cables. There are some nice deep stretches which may be reached either from the bank or wading. Click here to return to menu page.
