Birch Vale Reservoir /

A 5 acre reservoir near the village of Birch Vale

Birch Vale Reservoir

Birch Vale Reservoir is the largest of DNMAC's still waters. Set in outstanding scenery in the heart of the High Peak, Birch Vale is one of the Club's most secluded venues.

Gin clear with a reputation for being one of the Club's harder waters; Birch Vale offers a rewarding challenge for any angler prepared to commit some time to a serious fishing campaign.

The water contains specimen carp, pike, perch, bream, a couple of large chub and literally thousands of roach.

Fish Species

There are a number of large, quality carp in this water. Bream average 3-4lb but have been caught to 8lb. The abundance of small roach and perch help maintain a reasonable head of pike with twenty lb plus fish occasionally landed.

If you do intend to fish for pike please read the Club Book regarding equipment and season, pike are delicate fish and must be treated with respect. If in doubt don’t fish for pike or take an experienced pike angler with you.
